Happy birthday to my sister, Theresa!!!

Yesterday, Barry and I drove to the White Sands National Monument, north of Las Cruces, NM. We went through a border crossing, I think it was our fifth one.

Today, we found a 2017 National Monument, Organ Mountain-desert Peaks, just north of Las Cruces.

We hiked a trail which was a stagecoach route at one time. We are hiking to the Van Patten Encampment and Dripping Springs.

March 12th and 13th

Yesterday, was a relaxing day for me, Hank ran errands, Barry washed the truck. We just hung out and talked enjoying our time left.

We ate pizza and played bingo in the evening at the clubhouse, met some very nice people. Hank said he hasn’t played bingo in at least 30 years.

So, this morning, we both went on our next journeys. Hank is going to Buckeye, Arizona to met his daughter, Juliann. They had tickets to the Reds Spring Training, well, due to Coronavirus, it is cancelled. So, they will enjoy hanging out with their friends.

On our way to New Mexico, we saw Pecan and Pistachio orchards.

We were stopping at Fort Bowie; the area was dirt roads and no where to park a fifth wheel. So, next time around.

We continued to New Mexico, stopping in Las Cruces for a few days. Beautiful San Andres Mountains. We finally have great views from our site.

And, Barry is enjoying the hot tub tonight at the campground or should I say RV Resort.

It was suppose to rain this week, we were blessed to be able to see everything we wanted.

Today, we are visiting the Air and Space Museum in Tucson. We wanted to see the Graveyard, however, we didn’t know we had to apply 16 days before for background checks since it is on an air force base. Bummer!!

A smidget of the Graveyard from the street

It took us all day to see everything, and the Space section was closed. Needed another day.

Many, many, many planes and helicopters.

Barry and I moved to Casa Grande, Arizona this week.

We visited the Casa Grande National Monument with the largest prehistorical compound in North America. This Great House is the center of the compound.

Yesterday, we met Becky and Eric, our niece and nephew in Goodyear, Arizona for a bucket list adventure. We attended a Spring training Cincinnati baseball game.

We were very close to the Reds dugout

The weather was absolutely beautiful and the Reds look pretty good.

I’m not sure about this, looks like the leather of a baseball.
Our ride back home

Barry and I rode our bikes this week in the Sonoran Desert behind where we are staying. I can ride since it is flatter land and not sandy.

Barry goes out and finds geographical markers you can see from the Google Earth App.

Beginning to bloom
Check out the Google earth app, look south of Casa Grande, Arizona and north of Interstate 8.

February 24th, 2020

It has been a long time since we posted our adventures. We settled in Congress, Arizona for the last 4 months.

While we enjoyed our stay it was time to move on to new adventures.

In January, we rented an UTV and travelled through the desert to the Hole in the wall waterfall.

In December, we flew home to Ohio for Family Christmas. And, we went back for our nephew, Jonathan and Kayla’s wedding in January.

Following our friends, Bill and Mary
The Hole in the Wall

We have been enjoying the North Ranch, Barry explores the desert with his electric bike while I line dance or bead bracelets. I met Betty who quilts and helped her sew fabric strips for a quilt back. We went to a quilt show, too.

The end of January, we went to Puerto Neuvo, Mexico. Met up with our friends, Jim, Jo, Roger, Barb, Jay and Leslie. Always fun enjoying sun, golf and drinks.

Gretchen came in for a conference and stayed with us for the weekend.

Eagleview RV Park is very nice, has a hot tub, heated pool and free donuts with coffee every morning. Oh, and a casino close by.

Barry and I went into Tonto National Forest on Saturday and today.

Lake Roosevelt

We stopped at the Tonto National Monument and hiked the trail to the lower cliff dwellings.

Beautiful view on top of mountain with Lake Roosevelt

On the way home, we travelled by Superstition Mountains in Apache Junction, then, saw a large group of wild horses grazing. Great day to see our beautiful land.

Our weekly travels took us to Yuma, Arizona. We thought about moving there, so, we decided to visit the city to decide.Once we arrived, there where orchards of lemon, grapefruit and orange trees. Barry was given information on the Yuma Territorial Prison State Historical Park by Bill from the campground.
We toured the area and learned alot about the history of the prison. This mirror was used for profile mug shots. After the prison closed, they used it for a high school for a few years. Many movies where filmed there, 3:10 to Yuma was one. This pic is the inside of two bunk rooms, each had 6 prisoners. We also drove past the Marine Corps Air station in Yuma. We saw two planes fly to land.We enjoyed the beautiful weather and picnic.

This picture was at the prison, the frame was made by a prisoner.

It has been along time!! January 13th!!

Barry and I travelled home for Christmas and came back to Arizona for the New Year.
The North Ranch Escapee residents had a party waiting for the New York ball to drop and everyone went home by 10:00 PM. We had fun meeting newly arrived campers.Barry has been riding his bike and exploring the desert while I go to line dance class and I’m learning to bead.We have be exploring the area, Vulture City and Mine; which is a ghost town. The town had over 5000 residents in the 1800’s with gold mining. The mine is still a working mine. I told Barry we paid money to walk through the 1800 year old junk yard.
