Barry and I left Monday, packed our bags and travelled to the GRAND Canyon South Rim!! Sunrise, first one I have seen.

Amazing, however, we found out the glass walkway is close to Hoover Dam area, four hours away. Three random people waving high.

We walked and walked, took the shuttles to different areas of the canyon.

Colorado River Rapids

This is just a smiget of the photos we took. I’ll post more this week. We spent the night and took off early to Flagstaff to see the Sunrise Volcanic National Monument.
On the way we drove through areas of controlled burns in the forest.

We hiked two trails, one in the Lava fields.

The other, Lenox Crater Trail. One and half hour later, we descended the mountain. We haven’t hiked since Washington, I was huffing and puffing up to the top, but felt really great after.

We then went to the Wupatki National Monunent which was connected.

This view was just gorgeous. All the colors in this Painted Vista.

We hiked to see the ruins left from 1000 years ago.

After seeing all of these and more, we settled in for the night enjoying hot tube time for our weary bones. We met a couple who converted a bus into a RV.
Today, we travelled to Walnut Canyon in Flagstaff.

This is a replica of the canyon dwellings from the Pueblo people.
Another hike, down 253 steps to see them.

So, we left and drove to Sedona, Arizona. Just breath taking.

Do you see the Raven carving above?

Sedona, is a place to definitely visit.
On our way home, every curve in the road, a beautiful tapestry of the land.

Almost home, we stopped at the Granite Mountain Hotshots Memorial State Park. This is the memorial for the 19 firefighters who lost their lives.

We will go back to actually hike the trail and learn more. God bless their souls.
