Sept 29th

Barry and I finished our weekend in Ohio.

We are on our way back to Nevada to do more exploring.

We stayed with mom last night and attended mass with her, Amy, Tony, Rachel and Tony V.
Mark, Kelly, Roger, Barb and Jeff came too.

Lynn, we hope you feel better soon.
After mass, we went to visit Bob’s and had breakfast.

Our granddaughter, Sophie, plays fastpitch softball.

We were able to watch her last fall game today. She played first base and helped make the last out of the game.
Sophalious, Barry calls her, will do great things as she grows up. She is spunky and so sweet!!

We had a great time watching the game with Brady, Eric, and Erin.

We are now sitting at CVG, waiting for the plane to arrive.

Flying out around 7:51 PM.

Sept 27th & 28th

Well, what a fun time we had since Thursday night!!

It began at 11:30 PM. We decided to fly to Ohio for a few family events.

First, Thursday night, we went to see the Loveland Homecoming Parade where we surprised three of our grandchildren who were participating in the parade. Cayden, Madison and Brock.

Then, on Friday, I met my friend, Carol, for breakfast.
At 1:30, my sisters and I made plans to surprise my mom. We met at the salon to have pedicures.
I called Mom and ask her her what she is doing. Then, I asked if I could join her, and she said how? I then said I was at the front door. Surprise!!

We had appetizers and drinks after. Mom was very happy!!

Then, Barry and I went to see Adam and the boys. We surprised them. Largest french fry, I ever seen. Addison, Garrett and Parker.

After visiting them, we met up with our friends at Top Golf.

Today, Barry and I went to see Eric, Erin, Sophie and Brady. Brady is #5.

Off we go to see Cayden and Madison for their first Homecoming dance.

Then, we arrived to my brothers’ 70th surprise birthday party.

He was very surprised we showed up! Couldn’t miss his party!!

Hank’s grandson, Austin, all tied up by his cousins.

Lynn and Tony

Mt sister, Amy, with Ava and Jamie.

Hank’s grandson, Austin

Sarah and Jamie

Mr sister, Theresa with Eli and Nora. My sister Anne’s grandchildren.

Mom!!

So much food, fun and family!!

Hank was totally surprised and didn’t have a clue.

Juliann, Jeremy, Amber, Austin and Carson planned a great party!!

So, this has been a busy three days!!

We will return to Nevada tomorrow night after we go to mass with Mom and see Sophie play softball.

Sept 24th

We have driven around Pahrump the last few days, getting our bearings of places to go and visit. Found our friendly Walmart and Home Depot.

Barry and I went to Home Depot, today. Needed to get wire mesh to cover the inside step vents, so no critters can come into our home.

We went to the 4:00 Happy Hour and met some more of the residents.

Then, we took our nightly stroll. They have a very nice gazebo.

Sept 23rd

Happy birthday to my big brother, Hank.

70 years old and he doesn’t look or act like it.

Hank is such a caring person, very considerate and helpful to all of his family. Hank has a great sense of humor.

He just bought a brand new Ford truck and ordered it from the factory. What a great birthday gift!!

He is ready to go on his winter adventure.

Barry and I can’t wait to meet up with him somewhere in the southern States in February or March.

Barry relaxed yesterday afternoon after he finally finished waxing our home.

Last night, we had some weird looking clouds and winds.

There are mountains below in the first two pictures below. Can you see them?

Sept 21st and 22nd

Barry and I are enjoying meeting the people who live at Escapee’s Pair a dice RV.

Very friendly, some have travelled for 16 years.

Yesterday was a paperwork day for me and a truck interior cleaning for Barry.
We went to Our Lady of the Valley at 5:00. They had a sign in sheet for mass attendance.Today, we golfed. It has 14 par 3s and 4 par 4s. It was fun, a pretty day to play.

Many houses being built around the course. Alot of stucco homes and swimming pools with hot tubs.

But, didn’t see people outside, especially in their pools.

There would be a party going on if we owned it!!Blue heronThis is one of the pink ribbon tees, our grandson, Brady gave Barry before we left. Then, we watched the Cleveland Browns lose!!

Barry and I took a walk after the game, everything is sooo quiet.

The stars are shining, we could see the Big Dipper and the North Star.
The weather is in the high 80’s during the day and 60’s/70’s in the late evening.

Hoping to see some more of God’s country this week.

Sept 20th

Two months ago, we began our adventure.

We are settling into our place calling it home for this month. We will be able to go visit many different places in Nevada and California.

Barry and I took today to catch up house stuff.

Tonight, we played bingo with our fellow Escapees members. They had a Catina with finger foods before playing.

Barry won twice and then I did. Really nice and friendly people.

We are relaxing outside now. Would be nice to have a fire, it is quite chilly. The temperature is 69 degrees and the stars are out, pretty night.

Here is a short video of a dust devil we saw yesterday.

Sept 19th

Barry and I left Sparks Marina early this morning.

We needed to get to Pahrump, Nevada in order to get a spot before 4:00 PM.

Wild horses

Stagecoach, Nevada

Then, we saw bighorn sheep. My video is a little wonkie.

Just so many mountain ranges along the way, cactus, a corvette, sand dunes and burros. Last picture has a burro. Look closely!! We saw three, just a picture of one.

Our country is so incredibly amazing!!

Sept 18th

Barry and I left Grant’s Pass, Oregon to begin our drive to Pahrump, Nevada. We are stopping in Carson City, Nevada tonight. We are happy to leave the rain.We did see a rainbow!!California has really neat mountains, hills and valleys. And, we saw fire damage areas.Mt. Shasta is breathe taking!!While driving on SR36, we received a low tire warning on the driver’s back truck tire.
Well, thank goodness, we had 10 miles to go to get to Susanville, California.
Driving through the forest with nothing around and no wifi, somebody was watching over us.
We stopped at Les Schwab Tires. They were so nice and fixed the tire by removing a staple and were back on the road in 45 minutes. This is Honey Lake in Honey Lake Valley. It is a endorhiec sink. Since the sink does not flow into streams can or rivers so it produces alkali which turns it to the honey color.Crossing into Nevada at Bordertown, USA. And, we have sunshine!!We arrived north of Reno, and decided to go further to Carson City.
That didn’t happen, as we where getting on 580S, the flashing signs were on. We could not use 580 due to high winds.
We pulled over to decide what to do.Calling around to find an overnight stay and found Sparks Marina. A very nice place, had a hot tub and pool which we enjoyed after 8 hours on the road. The site had Astro turf instead of grass or gravel.
