And Three months later……..

Hi everyone!! Long time since I posted our adventures.

Barry and I have been staying safe and healthy like we hope everyone else is doing.

We arrived back in Ohio on April 3rd. Due to Covid, we stayed under July 3rd visiting family and friends.

So, we are back travelling again. This past 4th of July weekend, we celebrated with family, brothers and sister in law, Hank, Jeff and Lynn. My sister, Theresa and Taylor. My niece, Juliann. And, cousin Tom and his wife, Lynne.

We camped in Kentucky, between the Land on the Lakes. Saturday, the girls went into Paducah to see the National Quilt Museum. Tom and Lynne returned home on Sunday. The rest of us spent the day on a pontoon; swimming in the Kentucky Lake and driving around seeing the beautiful lake homes. The weather was wonderful and warm; the water was very enjoyable.

End of a great weekend!!!

March 29th

Well, how are we all doing with this social distancing?

Each state where we have been staying are all different. None of them are under quarantine, however, non essentials are staying home. Restaurants have carry out, grocery stores are open and everyone is 6 feet social distancing.

We are at Hot Springs, Arkansas.

This state is just beautiful. It has everything, forest, mountains and lakes. People are on the lakes boating and hiking at the trails. Fresh air is the best.

We went drove through the Hot Springs National Forest, drove around and saw the very large Lake Hamilton. Lake Catherine is beautiful as well with a dam pouring out water.

Today, we travelled to Garvin Gardens, a botanical garden of University of Arkansas. Just what I needed today, after raining all day yesterday, spring flowers!! Bunnies, squirrels and butterflies.

Beautiful church with glass windows all around

Just a little beauty to make your day shine!!

Best place to visit, very inspirational. They have a great place for children to play.

March 19th

Hope all the flowers are beginning to bloom in Ohio. The sun was shining and warm.

Today is a memory day for me.

Anne, our oldest sister, birthday is today. God called her home suddenly in May.

So, let us celebrate the time we were blessed to have Anne in our lives. Miss you so much, Anne💗

This morning, we left to see Lincoln National Forest. We were told to visit the Sitting Bull Waterfall.

So, we decided to hike in the fresh air today.

Lincoln National Forest has 3 sections, we are close to the southern one.

This is part of the Guadalupe Range

Today was an easier hike

This is just gorgeous, Before it opens, I think it is in the Yucca family, but looks like palms
We wish we knew what this is. Found this one on our way out of the park.

Happy St. Patty’s day!!

Barry and I went to Carlsbad Caverns today. We walked instead of using the elevator. We were told it was an amazing view of the cavern. And, it was. 2 1/2 hours later, we saw so much beauty in the earth.

We did take the elevator up.

Natural opening to cavern
The walkway 75 floors above the cavern
450,000 bats fly out in the evening and back in at dusk
This was taken with my night feature

If you ever have a chance, go and see the caverns, biggest in the country, they say and still finding more caverns.

March 16th

Barry and I love the town of Las Cruces, New Mexico. Old Mesilla is the quaint original spanish town where Billy the Kid was killed.

Yesterday, we went to the Basilica of San Albino. Beautiful church and after mass the young parishioners bleached all the pews and books. Also, they had hand sanitizer in the holy water holders. The priest ask us not to take them. Lol

Today, we travelled to visit Carlsbad, New Mexico. We drove into El Paso, Texas and continued to Carlsbad Caverns, NM. On our way we stopped at the Guadalupe Mountain National Park, tallest mountain in Texas.

Into Texas we go for a short time

Looks like the Guadalupe Mountains are floating on the clouds

Back in New Mexico, hope we can see the caverns tomorrow. Depends on the Corona virus; they can close the caverns. Hope not!!
