Aug 17th & 18th

The weather this week has been in the 60’s and 70’s with more rain than usual. We have the windows open and at night gets a little chilly, but is refreshing.

Yesterday, Barry and I finished seeing the waterfalls on the Spearfish Scenic Highway. First one was Spearfish waterfall and we saw rainbow trout in the streams while hiking.

The second one was Bridal Veil Falls, this one was right off the highway.

Today, we drove to Deadwood to check out the town. We shouldn’t have gone on a Sunday, all the shows are only Mondays through Saturdays.

Anyway, we enjoyed walking the town seeing the old buildings.

We had our last fire here at Whispering Pines Campground. Tomorrow we head out to Ft. Laramie, Wyoming for a night then off to see the Grand Tetons.

  2. It was so nice to meet you and Barry! The Black Hills are magical and your journey is inspiring.
After seeing your lovely home on wheels and talking to you, we decided to upgrade. Less than 24 hours after getting home, we traded our little camper for an older but much larger fifth-wheel. It’s beautiful and sunny and we can’t wait for our next adventure.
Thank you for letting me follow along with your travels!
